There is much in the news these days regarding provocations and weapons development by North Korea. Professor Sean O’Malley had a chance to speak to the strategic situation in Northeast Asia, when he spoke in the main conference hall of the National Assembly on September 8 to address the “DMZ Forum: North-South Unification Preparations and Gangwondo.” The symposium was hosted by Gangwon Prefecture and sponsored by the Gangwon Domin Ilbo and the Research Institute for Gangwon Development. Professor O’Malley delivered a paper entitled, “South-North Unification and US-ROK Cooperation.”
